  1. Drop one or more JPG files into the box above, or click to browse your device.

  3. Download the converted WebP files individually, or as a ZIP if you selected more than one.

About this conversion

WebP typically produces 25-35% smaller files than JPG at similar visual quality, which is why it's widely used for web images today. This tool encodes WebP using your browser's built-in canvas support — nearly all current versions of Chrome, Edge, Firefox, and Safari support it, but very old browsers may not. If a browser can't encode WebP, the tool will tell you rather than fail silently.

Frequently asked questions

Will every browser support this conversion?

WebP encoding is supported in all current major browsers. If yours doesn't support it, the tool shows a clear message instead of producing a broken file.

What quality setting should I use?

80% is a solid default for web use. Increase it if you notice visible artifacts, or lower it further to shrink file size for thumbnails.

Is there a file size or file count limit?

Each file must be under 25MB, and you can convert up to 40 files in one batch, since processing happens in your browser's memory rather than on a server.
